Lighting installation for kitchens, living spaces and working premises
Good lighting is mostly planning: where the light lands, how it is switched and how it dims. We set out positions with you before cutting a single hole, then fit it cleanly so it looks deliberate.

Lighting installation, explained
Most rooms need more than one kind of light: general light to move around by, task light over worktops and desks, and softer light for the evening. We plan circuits so those layers can be switched separately, and choose fittings and colour temperatures that suit the room rather than lighting everything at the same brightness.
Recessed downlights need care. We check what is above the ceiling before cutting, keep insulation and fire integrity where they need to be, and set positions out on the ceiling so you can see the layout before it is permanent.

Every circuit is tested. You receive the certificate, a labelled circuit chart and a walk-round of what was done.

Lighting: frequently asked questions
Can you fit downlights without replastering the ceiling?
Usually, yes. Cables are fed through from above or between joists, and holes are cut cleanly to size. In some older lath-and-plaster ceilings, downlights are not the right choice and we will say so.
Why do my LED lights flicker on a dimmer?
Most often the dimmer was designed for older lamps and cannot control a low LED load. An LED-compatible dimmer matched to the lamps normally cures it.
Can you supply the fittings?
Yes, or we can fit ones you have chosen. If you are buying your own, send us the product details first so we can check they suit the ceiling and the dimmers.
